We live in a relational universe. We are born of stars and made of the intertwining strands of ancestral DNA. We are earth. We are ether. We are the ones who stand between the seen and the unseen, co-creating with earthly and celestial beings. Making kin is about coming into relationship with all that weaves into your personal myth. I am here to offer support as you discover who you are, finding your authenticity in a world that needs your medicine and magic. 

Making Kin is based on a deep wish that humanity will reclaim its relationship to the earth and to the unseen forces that shape all of life here. We are called to make "kin" with nature, the ancestors, and the archetypal forces.  

Making Kin is a direct reference to the book "Staying with the Trouble: Making Kin in the Chthulucene" by Donna Haraway, which I discovered through the Book on Fire Podcast. This book looks at the critical nature of relationality in facing today's challenges. It is through deep relationship that we co-create the future of all things.

About Me
I’m Summer Starr. I come to this work as one who has been deeply shaped by unseen forces. I have profound ties to my ancestral roots, and a visionary connection to my own past lives that have brought me to this place and time with a wealth of heart and life experience. 

My journey to this work took me around the world (including living in Vietnam, France, Ghana, Kenya and India) and then right back to the land where I was born and raised, Bellingham, WA. I occupy the unceded ancestral homelands of the Nooksack and Lummi Nations, to whom I am deeply grateful for their sovereign presence to this day.  I am deeply tied to this land. In 2020 I married a nature spirit who is connected to this land, a practice that has ancestral roots, and a relationship that has taught me about trusting the heart, intuition and the imaginal.

I’m white cis-female, descended from settler colonialists, mostly from England, Ireland, Scotland, who have been in the US since before the revolutionary war. Reckoning with this family history has informed my anti-racism journey. Part of my journey has been understanding how to balance the gifts and challenges I've inherited ancestrally. These challenges showed up as a diagnosis of bipolar disorder and the gifts have showed up in my empathic nature with strong connections to the unseen realms.

I consider myself an intuitive healer and spirit worker. I am a certified practitioner of Ancestral Lineage Healing with Ancestral Medicine. I am also certified in intentional peer support and provide Maastricht interviews for people who hear voices or have unusual beliefs that have resulted in a mental health diagnosis. I have almost a decade of experience working with a modality called Resonance Repatterning as well as plant spirit medicine in the form of essences, tinctures and essential oils. Earth Light Essences

I create essences in partnership with the devic beings, or nature spirits of a place. These are different than flower essences in that they are essences of place and they are co-created with the intelligence of that place.
